  • Email Issues - Friday, May 10, 2013  5:25 to 6:00 PM

At 5:25 PM the primary 'adams.net' server experienced drive array problems which took the server offline.  Incoming mail was diverted to a backup system while corrections were made. Users would have experienecd login problems as a result.

 

By 6:00 PM the system was restored and all queued mail delivered.

 

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this event.

  • Routing Issues - Thursday, December 13, 2012  8:15 AM.

Starting about 7:30 AM traffic to some destinations was not routing properly or was experiencing severe delays.  This was due to an issue on an upstream carriers' network with traffic routing through Chicago.  We routed traffic around this issue using our other carriers until 5:30 PM..

  • Mail Server Maintenance - Saturday, December 8, 2012

From 3:10 AM to 3:25 AM drive maintenance was performed on the Adams mail server.  Users would have been unable to log in to retrieve messages during this time.  Incoming mail was stored on a backup system.  Services were returned to normal by 3:45 AM.

  • Email Outage - Monday, December 3, 2012 10:15 AM

We experienced an issue with the Adams mail server due to a failed drive in a RAID array. Users will received errors trying to retrieve messages, new messages were stored on a backup system.

Service was restored by 12:35 PM and all spooled mail was delivered by 2:00 PM.  We apologize for any inconvenience. 

  • Email Delays - Friday, August 24, 2012

The Postini spam filtering system experienced an issue with deliveries of messages to multiple providers and clients, including Adams.  Between 10:35 AM and 11:20 AM we saw limited incoming email traffic.  Users experienced a delay of one to two hours as queued messages are processed or retransmitted. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • PUBLIC INFORMATION NOTICE:

    On Wednesday November 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm Central Time the FCC will be conducting a National Emergency Alert System (EAS) Test.

    THIS IS ONLY A TEST

     Duration of 30 seconds

    The EAS regulations and standards are governed by the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the FCC.  This system is used to alert the public of local weather emergencies such as tornadoes and flash floods, the official EAS is designed to enable the President of the United States to speak to the United States within 10 minutes.   This will be a test to simulate an actual emergency notification put out by the President.

  • Wednesday 10/26/11  10:00 AM   Email Issue

    We are currently experiencing issues with our adams.net mail server. Users should be able to send mail, but access to check email is limited and users will get a server timeout or password error. 

    You do not need to reset your password. 

    This issue also affects users using SMTP authentication on the 'adams.net' system.

    Incoming mail is being received on a backup server for delivery.

    Technicians are actively working on a resolution to the problem.

    An update will be posted here when this issue is resolved.

    UPDATE 11:45 AM -- the affected server is performing disk integrity checks on the filesystem and the system cannot be brought online until this process is completed.

    UPDATE 1:00 PM -- service was restored about 12:55 PM.  Incoming messages will be current messages, messages that have been held on the backup system will be delivered over the next hour..

    UPDATE 2:30 PM -- all queued messages have been delivered and email deliveries are current.  We are researching the cause for the problems seen today to prevent it from occurring again.  We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused our users.

  • Friday July 1, 2011 - Storm Issues

    Service has been restored to all areas however individual users may still have issues related to the damage caused by the storm early Monday.

  • Wednesday, March 9, 2011 - Friday, March 11, 2011 - Server Maintenance

    Starting at  midnight and running through 3:00 AM each of these dates performed updates to a number of Internet systems. 

    Users saw brief interruptions in DNS, email and web services as servers are updated and restarted.

    We appreciate your patience during these maintenance events and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  • Friday, January 21, 2010  11:00 AM -- Email with Attachments

     Postini is experiencing an issue with processing some messages with attachments.

    Google (Postini) has an advisory on this on their support forum.

    We see messages for Postini users (including 'adams.net' addresses) being queued on our server with this message:

    • "451 - Please_try_again_for_virus_detection"

    5:30 PM  - Postini has corrected this issue.

  • Monday, November 15, 2010 - 11:30 PM - Server Maintenance

    Starting at 11:30 PM we performed software updates to a number of systems.  Users saw brief interruptions in DNS, email and web services as servers were restarted. We appreciate your patience during these events and apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  • SECURITY ALERT - Friday 11/5/10 'WEBMAIL Account' messages.

    We are again seeing messages that claim to be from Adams tech support asking users to email us their password to update our user database.

    THIS IS FRAUDULENT.


    Adams will NEVER ask you to email us your password to confirm it is correct or to administer changes to our email system.

    If you have replied to one of these messages by accident, please call Adams Customer Care at 877-696-4611 to arrange to have your email password reset for your safety.

  • Warsaw Wireless Outage 9/8/10 - 9/9/10

    Due to an accident at the Ursa Farmers Coop facility in Warsaw power to our wireless equipment was taken down and the site was offline from 11:15 PM Wednesday night until 5:40 PM Thursday. The site is running on a temporary electrical service pending restoration of a permanent power source.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this outage has caused.

  • Versailles Wireless Outage 8/20 - 8/22/2010

    Storm damage took the Versailles wireless site offline late Friday night. Equipment was replaced on the tower early Sunday morning restoring service.

  • Wireless Outages Saturday 8/21/2010

    Between 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM we experienced a hardware issue that affected many wireless users.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  • Wireless Network Maintenance Thursday 6/24/2010

    Between 11:30 PM and 12 Midnight we performed hardware upgrades on switching equipment that affected many wireless users. This resulted in intermittent loss of Internet access for these users.

    We apologize for any inconvenience to our users as we implement network enhancements.

  • SERVER MAINTENANCE - Monday 03/22/2010 11:59 PM

    We performed maintenance on several servers between 11:59 PM Monday and 12:30 AM Tuesday. Users may have noticed several brief interruptions in accessing mail, sending mail and accessing websites.

  • HARDWARE MAINTENANCE - Monday 03/22/2010 11:30 PM

    An upgrade of hardware at our QU North wireless tower site was performed.

    This work impacted users as radio connections were moved to the new hardware. Users may have seen three brief interruptions in their connection.

    Work was completed by 12:30 AM.

  • CIRCUIT MAINTENANCE - Monday 03/08/2010 11:59 PM

    An upgrade and move of one of our three Internet backbone links occurred at approximately 12:01 AM Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The provider moved our circuit onto another backbone router and increased bandwidth capacity.

    This work may have impacted some users briefly as traffic was routed to two other connections. Maintenance was completed by 12:05 AM Tuesday.

  • Email Delays - 3/1/10
     
    Due to very heavy volume and many messages with large attachments some users may have experienced delays of up to 30 minutes for incoming messages between 9:00 AM and Noon.
  • Quincy Dialup - Wednesday 2/17/10

    At 5:25 PM a hardware failure took down a number of modem lines serving the 214-3491 and 224-3491 numbers.

    The failed equipment was replaced and brought online at 8:34 PM.

    Depending on call volume some users may have experienced an "All Circuits are Busy" message while the replacement device was being configured.

    'WEBMAIL Account' messages.

    We are again seeing messages that claim to be from Adams tech support asking users to email us their login, date of birth and password to update our user database.

    THIS IS FRAUDULENT.

  • Carthage IL Dialup - 2/2/10
    The issue affecting dialup connections to the Carthage access number, 217-357-6950, that had been down since 3:15 PM Monday has been repaired.

  • SERVER MAINTENANCE - Monday 01/18/2010

    We performed maintenance on several servers between 11:30 PM Monday and 1:00 AM. Tuesday. Users may have noticed several brief interruptions in accessing mail, sending mail and accessing websites. As of 1:10 AM all services are running normally. We appreciate your patience during system maintenance events.

  • Email Delays - 12/21/09
     Due to very heavy volume and many messages with large attachments some users may be experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes for incoming messages.
  • SERVER MAINTENANCE - Friday 10/16/09

    We performed maintenance on two of the 'adams.net' mail servers between 11:30 PM and 12:00 AM. Users saw two five-minute interruptions in sending mail or accessing mail.

    We are again seeing messages that claim to be from Adams tech support asking users to email us their login, date of birth and password to update our user database.

    THIS IS FRAUDULENT.

  • Fake News Messages - January, 2009

    There are a new set of messages containing links to websites containing video clips that may infect a users' system if viewed:

    • From: CNN USA news center
    • From: USA news centre
    • Subject: Israel warns Gaza of impending invasion
    • Subject: Hamas Goads Israel Into War
    As always, beware of links in messages you do not expect or can confirm are valid.
  • SECURITY ALERT - Monday 11/24/08
    'Email Account' messages.

    We are again seeing messages that claim to be from Adams tech support asking users to email us their login, date of birth and password to update our user database.

    THIS IS FRAUDULENT.
